Leave a lasting gift for those to follow
We all leave our assets behind, but nearly 60% of us do so without knowing to whom. If you die without a will, the state of Colorado decides who receives how much of what you leave behind - you forfeit the right to decide how your property will be distributed.
Creating a will is an excellent way to ensure that you make your most important decision… decisions that will impact the people, places and things that you care about most.
Creating a will does not need to be complicated or expensive. We suggest, however, that you ask an attorney to help you.
Bal Swan Children's Center would like for you to consider leaving a gift to support the programs, services and families that we serve. You can set aside a certain dollar amount in your will; or leave a percentage of your assets. Some people give a charity something that they own, such as a car or their home. Others leave a paid life insurance policy.
To be certain that Bal Swan would receive your gift you would need to list our correct legal name, Bal Swan Children's Center, in your will as well as listing our non-profit tax id number, #84-0535171. You also may specify in your will whether the charity may spend the principle amount of the gift immediately, or whether the principle should be permanently invested, allowing the charity to spend only the annual earnings.

There are other ways to leave a legacy to Bal Swan. One of the easiest ways is to support us by making us a death beneficiary of your pre-tax retirement plan (such as 401k, 403b or IRA), certificate of deposit, bank account or life insurance policy. You can achieve additional tax savings by making a charity the owner of your life insurance policy.
